This Monster Wants to Eat Me Anime

Pony Canyon announced on Monday that the television anime adaptation of Sai Naekawa’s This Monster Wants to Eat Me (Watashi o Tabetai, Hito de nashi) manga is set to premiere in October 2025. The announcement also revealed additional cast and staff details.

The promotional video released alongside the announcement includes English subtitles that can be toggled on.

Newly Announced Cast Members:

  • Yui Ishikawa as Shiori Oumi
  • Fairouz Ai as Miko Yashiro
  • Reina Ueda will voice the protagonist, Hinako Yaotose.

Story Synopsis:

“I’ve come to eat you.” So softly utters the mermaid Shiori as she emerges from the sea and takes high school girl Hinako by the hand. Hinako, who lives alone in a seaside town, possesses an unusually delicious body that is irresistible to nearby monsters.

To ensure that she matures to the best condition, Shiori vows to protect her—all so that one day, she can devour every piece of her. As this looming, unjust fate approaches, what will become of Hinako’s feelings?

Sai Naekawa first launched the manga in Kadokawa’s Dengeki Maoh magazine in 2020. Kadokawa published the first compiled volume in 2021 and released the ninth volume on October 25.
