A Certain Scientific Railgun Season 4 Confirmed Reprising The Original Production Crew

A Certain Scientific Railgun Season 4

Five years since the last season concluded, publisher Dengeki Bunko’s “Super New Year Appreciation – Winter Festival Online 2025” livestream delivered an electrifying reveal—A Certain Scientific Railgun is officially set to receive a fourth anime season.

Accompanying the announcement, a special video was released, confirming the return of director Tatsuyuki Nagai (Mobile Suit GUNDAM Iron-Blooded Orphans) at studio J.C.STAFF.

Additionally, main cast members Rina Sato, Satomi Arai, Aki Toyosaki, and Kanae Ito will reprise their roles. However, at the time of reporting, no release date had been announced.

Adapted from Kazuma Kamachi’s spin-off light novel series, A Certain Scientific Railgun made its anime debut in October 2009, followed by sequel seasons in 2013 and 2020.

All three seasons were directed by Tatsuyuki Nagai at J.C.STAFF, the same studio behind anime adaptations of A Certain Magical Index and A Certain Scientific Accelerator.

Crunchyroll, which streams A Certain Scientific Railgun, describes the series as follows:

Misaka’s electro-manipulation abilities—along with her signature and devastating Railgun projectile move—make her a standout in Academy City.

This high-tech metropolis is home to espers, students with supernatural abilities, including Misaka’s flirtatious roommate and close friend, Kuroko. With super-powered gangs, mad scientists, and terrifying monsters roaming the city, the action never stops!
