The official website for the second season of the television anime adaptation of Asato Mizu’s romantic comedy manga Aharen-san wa Hakarenai (Aharen Is Indecipherable) revealed an additional cast member and details about the ending theme song on Friday.

Iori Saeki will voice Henzan-sensei, a rookie teacher who has aspired to become a passionate educator ever since she was inspired by a drama she watched as a child.

shallm will perform the ending theme song titled “Twilight.” The new season is scheduled to premiere in April.

Returning cast members include Inori Minase as Reina Aharen and Takuma Terashima as Raidō. Nao Tōyama joins the cast as Riku Tamanaha. The opening theme song, “Binetsuma,” will be performed by ZUTOMAYO.

Production Team

Yasutaka Yamamoto (Servant × Service, Valkyria Chronicles) is back as the chief director, while Tomoe Makino (Woodpecker Detective’s Office) continues as the series director at Felix Film.

Takao Yoshioka (High School DxD, I’m Standing on 1,000,000 Lives., Sekirei, WATAMOTE) returns as series composer and is co-writing the scripts alongside Kotsukotsu and Masanao Akahoshi. Yūko Yahiro (Diabolik Lovers, Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Katana Maidens: Toji no Miko) is responsible for character design.

Additionally, Tomoko Iwasa resumes her role as chief animation director, working alongside Yumiko Ishii and Saori Yamamoto. The Chinese streaming platform bilibili is presenting the project.

Manga Origins and Series Background

The first season of the anime premiered in April 2022. Crunchyroll streamed the series simultaneously and also provided an English dub.

Aharen-san wa Hakarenai originally debuted as a manga series on Shonen Jump+ in January 2017. The series concluded in April 2023.

Story Synopsis

This teen romantic comedy explores the unpredictable daily life of Reina Aharen, a short and quiet girl, and Raidō, the classmate who sits beside her. Aharen struggles to gauge personal space and boundaries, making it difficult for others to understand her behavior.

Initially, Raidō notices a considerable distance between them—until one day, he picks up Aharen’s dropped eraser, and their dynamic shifts drastically. Suddenly, she goes from being too distant to way too close, leaving Raidō bewildered by her unpredictable nature.
