The official website for the television anime adaptation of Makoto Akui’s manga, “Ao no Orchestra” (The Blue Orchestra), announced on Wednesday that the second season will premiere on the NHK Educational channel this fall. Additionally, the anime’s staff unveiled a teaser visual and confirmed that the upcoming season will consist of 21 episodes.
The first season of the anime debuted on NHK Educational in April 2023 and ran for a total of 24 episodes.
Jun Sakata (“To Your Eternity”) served as the anime’s production supervisor and chief producer. Seiji Kishi (“Assassination Classroom,” “Persona 4 The Animation,” “Classroom of the Elite”) directed the series at Nippon Animation.
Yuuko Kakihara (“Chihayafuru,” “Digimon Adventure tri.,” “Persona 4 The Animation,” “2022 Urusei Yatsura”) was responsible for writing and supervising the series scripts, while Kazuaki Morita (“Assassination Classroom,” “Classroom of the Elite,” “Persona 4 The Animation”) designed the characters.

Indonesian publisher Elex Media is handling the manga’s release and provides the following description of the story:
During the autumn of his final year in middle school, violin prodigy Hajime Aono abruptly stopped playing for personal reasons.
However, that same year, he encountered a girl who introduced him to a high school renowned for its prestigious school orchestra. This meeting set his life into motion once more, marking the beginning of a youth drama that intertwines the harmony of music and emotion.
Akui launched the ongoing manga series in Shogakukan’s Manga ONE app in 2017. The manga received the Best Shōnen Manga award at the 68th Shogakukan Manga Awards in January 2023.
