Cute High Earth Defense Club Franchise

A teaser website launched on Monday, unveiling a new television anime in the Cute High Earth Defense Club (Binan Kōkō Chikyū Bōei-bu) franchise, titled Binan Kōkō Chikyū Bōei-bu Haikara!. The website also introduced the anime’s staff and revealed a teaser visual.

Shinji Takamatsu, who previously directed the first three series and the recent Cute High Earth Defense Club Eternal Love! film, is returning as director for the new anime at Studio DEEN.

The Cute High Earth Defense Club Eternal Love! anime film, which marked the franchise’s 10th anniversary, premiered in Japan on January 24.

The franchise began with the first season of Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE!, which premiered in January 2015.

Streaming platforms Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Viewster simulcasted the series as it aired in Japan. Ponycan USA later released the series on DVD and Blu-ray Disc combo packs.

A sequel series, Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! LOVE!, aired in July 2016 in Japan, with both Funimation and Crunchyroll streaming it.

An original video anime (OVA) project, Cute High Earth Defense Club LOVE! LOVE! LOVE!, debuted in August 2017 in Japanese theaters. Crunchyroll added the OVA to its streaming platform in November 2017. It was originally promoted as the “series concluding chapter.”

The franchise later continued with Cute High Earth Defense Club HAPPY KISS!, which premiered in April 2018. Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired.
