Fuji TV announced on Tuesday that Dr. Ashura, the manga by Ryō Koshino, will receive a live-action television adaptation.
The series is set to air on Fuji TV’s Wednesday 10:00 p.m. “Shin-Sui 10 Drama” timeslot, beginning in April.

The live-action adaptation will star Wakana Matsumoto (Kamen Rider Den-O, live-action Cells at Work!) as the protagonist, Shura Anno.
Story Overview
The manga follows Shura Anno, a highly skilled emergency room doctor with an unusual passion for life-threatening medical cases. She refuses to turn away any patient and will go to extreme lengths to save lives.

Koshino serialized Dr. Ashura in Nihonbungeisha’s Weekly Manga Goraku magazine from 2015 to 2016.
The publisher compiled the series into three volumes. Additionally, a two-volume new edition, which includes a special new one-shot story, will be released on April 11.

Koshino previously launched the manga Machi-Isha Jumbo in Kodansha’s Weekly Gendai magazine in 2011, concluding it in 2015.
The series later inspired the live-action drama Town Doctor Jumbo!! in 2013, which was streamed by Crunchyroll as it aired.
