Philippine film distributor Pioneer Films announced on Monday that Oshi no Ko -The Final Act-, the sequel film to the live-action adaptation of Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari’s Oshi no Ko manga, will premiere in the Philippines on March 5.
The live-action Oshi no Ko series debuted its first six episodes on Amazon Prime worldwide on November 28. The sequel film was released in Japanese theaters on December 20, following the series’ conclusion.

Production Staff
The film was directed by the filmmaker known as Smith (Inside Mari, I Want to Hold Aono-kun So Badly I Could Die, music videos for Ikimono-gakari, Ketsumeishi, Snow Man). The TV series was helmed by Hana Matsumoto (Kimi to Nara Koi o Shitemite mo), with Smith co-directing.

Oshi No Ko Live Action
The series’ screenplay was written by Ayako Kitagawa (Tokyo Love Story, Laid-Back Camp), and the music was composed by fox capture plan (Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai, Lupin III vs. Cat’s Eye). Toei’s Ryūsuke Imoto served as the producer.
Each episode of the TV series featured a different theme song and artist. The in-story idol unit B-Komachi performs the film’s ending theme song, “Shining Song.”
Anime Adaptation and Manga Details
The Oshi no Ko anime adaptation by Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari premiered in Japan in April 2023, debuting with a 90-minute first episode. Ani-One Asia streamed the anime as it aired. The second season ran from July to October 2023, with Ani-One Asia streaming it again.
A third season has been green-lit and is set to debut in 2026.

Yen Press licensed the manga and describes the story as follows:
“Gorou is a gynecologist and idol fan who’s in shock after his favorite star, Ai, announces an impromptu hiatus. Little does Gorou realize that he’s about to forge a bond with her that defies all common sense!
Lies are an idol’s greatest weapon in this outrageous manga from Aka Akasaka (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and Mengo Yokoyari (Scum’s Wish).”
Akasaka and Yokoyari launched the manga in Shueisha’s Weekly Young Jump in April 2020. The series concluded on November 14, 2023.
