The official website for the television anime adaptation of Yashiro’s “Reincarnated as a Neglected Noble: Raising My Baby Brother With Memories From My Past Life” (Shiro Buta Kizoku desu ga Zense no Kioku ga Haeta node Hiyoko na Otōto Sodatemasu) light novel series announced on Friday that the anime will premiere first exclusively on the ABEMA streaming service in Japan starting April 20, featuring the first two episodes. This streaming debut on ABEMA will be available for free.
Initially, the anime was scheduled to premiere in July, as revealed in a January announcement. While the anime will still make its television debut in Japan in July on Tokyo MX, YTV, and BS Fuji, its release on ABEMA now precedes the TV broadcast by three months.
Additionally, new cast members were revealed on Friday. The first four listed actors are reprising their roles from a previously released drama CD:
- Shunichi Toki as Romanov
- Aki Toyosaki as Princess Hyakka
- Haruhi Nanao as Rottenmeyer
- Rie Hikisaka as Alice Utsunomiya
- Kōji Yusa as Victor
- Ayumu Murase as Igor
- Hiroki Nanami as Laala
The anime will feature Misaki Kuno as Ageha and Mariya Ise as Regulus, both of whom are also reprising their roles from the earlier drama CD.
Masafumi Sato (Denki-Gai, Drug Store in Another World – The Slow Life of a Cheat Pharmacist, A Salad Bowl of Eccentrics) is directing the anime at Studio Comet. Mitsutaka Hirota (Rent-A-Girlfriend, Bibliophile Princess, Tonbo!) is handling the series scripts.
Tomoko Miyakawa (Jewelpet, Fairy Ranmaru, Sweet Reincarnation) is responsible for character design, while Arisa Okehazama is composing the music.
The novel’s story follows Ageha, a five-year-old overweight child and the eldest son of a count in a corrupt yet powerful country.
Born with memories of his past life as a Japanese man, Ageha meets his half-brother Regulus and learns that Regulus is destined to kill him in a future battle over the right to inherit the title. Accepting this fate, Ageha resolves to raise his younger brother himself.
Yashiro launched the ongoing light novel series on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in August 2018. TO Books published the first volume of the novels, featuring illustrations by keepout, in January 2020, and released the 13th volume on January 15.
Yokowake began the manga adaptation of the light novels on TO Books’ Comic Corona manga website in September 2020. TO Books published the manga’s fifth volume on January 15, while MangaPlaza is releasing the manga in English.
