Shogakukan announced on Friday that Kore Kaite Shine, the manga by Minoru Toyoda, is set to receive a television anime adaptation that will air on NTV. The first visual for the anime features the tagline: “For everyone who loves manga.”
Toyoda, known for Love Roma, first launched the manga in Monthly Shonen Sunday, a magazine published by Shogakukan, in November 2021. The series is also available on Sunday Webry, and its sixth volume is scheduled for release in August 2024.
Story Overview
Set on Izuōshima, an island located 120 kilometers south of Tokyo, the manga follows Ai Yasumi, a high school girl who is passionate about reading manga.

Awards and Recognition
Kore Kaite Shine has received notable accolades, winning an award at the 70th Shogakukan Manga Awards in January. The series also secured the 16th Manga Taisho Award in 2023.
Additionally, it ranked #6 in the male readers’ category of the 2023 edition of Takarajimasha’s Kono Manga ga Sugoi! (This Manga is Amazing!) guidebook.
