On Sunday, Kadokawa revealed two additional cast members for the upcoming television anime adaptation of Mika Kamisu’s manga, based on Shirohi’s novel series Gorilla no Kami Kara Kago Sareta Reijō wa Ōritsu Kishidan de Kawaigareru (The Gorilla God’s Go-To Girl or The Lady Blessed by the Gorilla God Is Adored by the Royal Knights).

Newly Announced Cast Members:

  • Nozomi Yamamoto as Carissa, Sofia’s haughty classmate from a powerful noble family
  • Kyōka Moriya as Alene, Sofia’s reserved yet kind classmate

Special Collaboration with Go Go Curry

The anime is collaborating with Go Go Curry, a popular Japanese restaurant chain known for its gorilla-themed logo.

Lead voice actress Kanna Nakamura conceptualized a special menu item, the “May You Also Be Blessed ♡ Gorilla God Face Curry.” This dish will be available at five Tokyo branches from April 1 to April 30.

Story Overview

Described as a “never-before-seen gorilla romantic comedy”, this fantasy anime takes place in a world where people receive blessings from animal gods upon turning 16.

The story follows Sofia Reeler, the timid daughter of an earl, who unexpectedly receives a blessing from the Gorilla God—reputed to be the strongest in combat.

The anime will premiere on April 6 at 11:30 p.m. (JST) on AT-X, followed by broadcasts on Tokyo MX, Sun TV, KBS Kyoto, and BS Asahi.

Crunchyroll will stream the series simultaneously as it airs, under the English title The Gorilla God’s Go-To Girl.

Background on the Original Work

The novel series was originally created by Shirohi on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō platform. Mika Kamisu later adapted it into a manga, which began serialization on Kadokawa’s Flos Comic service in 2021.
