The official website for the independent anime project Volicia of Pluto -Vapor Trail Another Age 2006- (Bōsei no Volicia: Dai Isshō: Kōka) began streaming the full trailer for the second chapter on Saturday.
The trailer reveals that the upcoming 42-minute, PG12-rated chapter, titled Bōsei no Volicia: Dai Nishō: Gunjō (Volicia of Pluto #2: Ultramarine), is set to premiere in theaters beginning April 21.
The second crowdfunded chapter is set to premiere at Nagoya’s Osu Cinema on April 21, followed by a screening at Tokyo’s Animate Theater in Ikebukuro on May 5. On that day, the theater will host a special showing of both chapters, featuring on-stage greetings from members of the production team.
The original staff and cast are returning, with the addition of Iwori and Ako Iwanami, who will portray “Maintenance Crew” 1 and 2, respectively. Marica (Funczion SOUNDS) performs the opening theme song, “Rensei no Shiori” (A Verse on Binary Stars), which was scored and arranged by Alchemy+’s Masahiro Inada.
Set in 2006, the anime follows Akio Hoshigami, a promising track-and-field athlete whose dreams are shattered after sustaining a leg injury.

Forced to give up her passion, she moves on to high school alongside her friend Ayano Umisoe. As she engages in new activities and builds new friendships, Akio slowly regains her former self. However, everything changes when Ayano suddenly vanishes.

The 23-year-old creator, AsH, serves as the director, editor, scriptwriter, animator, and cinematographer. The music was composed by nagiha, while Kona, also known as Fukutarau, handled sound effects. Zerogosha is credited for production cooperation.
The first chapter was screened at Osu Cinema in Nagoya from July 3-9, 2023. That same month, the project’s YouTube channel released the full first chapter with both English and Japanese subtitles.
AsH has previously released two other anime works. The 35-minute Gekijōban Vapor Trail, released in 2021, is available with English subtitles on AsH’s YouTube channel. The 25-minute Penetrate Blue -Vapor Trail Another Age 2824-, released in 2022, is also accessible on YouTube.
